The CFATG (Club Francophone de l'Autophagie) congress is an annual meeting which brings together between 120 and 160 participants depending on the year and location (2011 Lyon, 2012 Montpellier, 2013 Nice, 2014 Toulouse, 2015 Lille, 2016 Bordeaux, 2017 Paris , 2018 Montpellier and 2019 Strasbourg).

The CFATG association (www.cfatg.org) was created in 2011 to promote scientific research in the field of autophagy, to stimulate scientific exchanges between French-speaking researchers from different backgrounds and to ensure the dissemination of knowledge in this innovative field of cutting-edge techniques of biology, chemistry and physics.

The first CFATG conference, which took place in Lyon in 2011, was a great success, bringing together 165 participants. Since then, the association has successfully organized a congress each year, with the exception of the last two years, during which the congress had to be canceled due to the health crisis. The next edition has therefore been postponed to spring 2022 in Besançon (May 31-June 02, 2022).

It should also be noted that this meeting will be the 10^th of the name and will therefore be a special event for the CFATG association. This is why we will have the honor to welcome renowned speakers in the field of autophagy (Patrica Boya, Francesco Cecconi, Patrice Codogno, Mathias Faure, Oliver Florey) but also Daniel Klionsky, one of the pioneers in  autophagy research and the founder of the international scientific journal Autophagy which is a reference in the field.
